Optimizing the steel supply chain with AI

The Challenge

This project brings together AI and enterprise resource planning (ERP) modernization to address longstanding inefficiencies in the steel manufacturing sector. By deploying four AI modules within a reengineered ERP system, the initiative enhances procurement automation, strategic bidding, inventory optimization, and access to technical data. A supply optimization engine synchronizes steel purchasing with production timelines, reducing material costs and delays. A smart bidding assistant leverages historical data to streamline quote preparation and improve win rates. Predictive inventory management recalibrates reorder points for steel plates, targeting a reduction in inventory without compromising production flow. Finally, a technical search engine, featuring an intelligent chatbot and contextual search bar, centralizes operational knowledge and accelerates internal decision-making. Together, these tools reinforce industrial performance by embedding real-time intelligence and process automation into mission-critical workflows.
