MDA-Nowledge Copilot
The Challenge
To meet the growing demands for its satellite constellations, MDA Space is undertaking a transformation of its engineering and manufacturing workflows. In partnership with Maya HTT, the project focuses on developing the MDA Space-Nowledge Copilot, a secure on-premise platform designed to drastically reduce the time engineers spend searching for complex technical documentation. Tasks that have historically taken close to a full workday, such as finding details in 2D drawings, signal plots, or engineering tables, will be shortened to minutes. The platform is built to comply with strict Canadian industrial security and Controlled Goods regulations by keeping all data securely on site. Its ability to process highly specialized data from domains such as structural analysis, acoustics, thermodynamics, electromagnetics, and communications makes it a cutting-edge generative AI application. The result will be faster engineering workflows, a higher production cadence, and the ability to meet the delivery schedules required by MDA Space satellite programs.
