The Challenge
This project introduces an AI-based solution to automate the processing of client requests for custom-cut laminate countertop and cabinet doors. The system is designed to interpret mid- to high-quality handwritten or digital sketches and extract relevant dimensions and specifications. It maps this information to predefined data fields, flags missing inputs, and automatically generates complete documentation, including quotes, labels, bills of materials, and nesting plans, which are then transmitted to production systems. This automation is expected to significantly reduce the current manual processing time of 62 minutes per request, eliminate early-stage bottlenecks in the order pipeline, and enable the handling of a greater number of requests per day without increasing workforce size, ultimately accelerating delivery times and reducing costly errors in a high-demand, precision-driven environment.
