Following the call for applications launched by Scale AI on behalf of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), nearly one hundred Canadian companies submitted applications to participate in the IP Management Clinic for AI.

We would like to thank all the companies that applied. The strong interest generated by this initiative highlights the growing importance of intellectual property in the development, commercialization, and growth of artificial intelligence companies.

The selected cohort reflects the diversity and dynamism of Canada’s AI ecosystem. The selected companies demonstrate the national reach of Scale AI’s program, with applications received from companies located across Canada, from coast to coast. The selected cohort includes companies from six provinces, from British Columbia toNewfoundland and Labrador.

Over the coming months, participants will take part in a series of specialized workshops and one-on-one advisory sessions with leading intellectual property experts to strengthen their strategies for protection, commercialization, and international growth.

Companies that weren’t selected won’t leave empty-handed, however. They’ll get exclusive, on-demand access to the workshop series, a resource that will support them as they continue developing and protecting their AI innovations.
